SEPTEMBER 22, 2014
This Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st, The Department of Making + Doing traveled up to The Big Apple for World Maker Faire New York. Makers from all over descended on the New York Hall of Science for two days of tinkering, soldering, printing—3D and otherwise—swapping ideas, telling stories and reveling in a community of like minded makers.
We met tons of great new people we didn’t,but now do, know and also ran into a couple of people we did know, ate puffed rice from MOFAD – Museum of Food and Drink’s one-and-a-half ton BOOM! cannon, learned about the future of Arduino from founder Massimo Banzi, saw a life sized game of Mouse Trap and even watched a diet-coke-and-mentos fountain show by EepyBird just to name a few things. What a day! We’ll certainly be back again. Until then, keep on making on.
